6/21/10 – Monday

Emerson,

I am sorry that I haven’t posted much lately.  I have had such an amazing week.  You and your Mother are both happy and healthy, you are eating and sleeping well, and you are amazingly adorable.  You have had a few guests so far, but many folks are waiting a bit before they come over.  On Thursday our great friends Gus and Jeanna Martin came over to visit and they brought tons of food.  I love pasta!  We were so grateful to have a home-cooked meal.

Our friends Josh and Chantel came over on Saturday and brought a basket of gifts!  They stayed for quite a while which was great.

Yesterday was my first Father’s Day (and the 100th Father’s Day since inception).  It was such a great day.  Your Mother cared for you in the morning which allowed me to sleep in.  After sleeping in I was woke with your cute face, our dog Tonka, and a gift!  The gift was a tool puzzle that your Mother and I had seen at Lowe’s a few weeks back.  I cannot wait to get to play it with you when you get a bit older.  After opening my cards and gift I got an excellent lunch which your Aunt Kelsey brought me.  The rest of the day I hung around with you.  Most of the time you spent sleeping on my chest and other times we would tell each other jokes.

Well, right now you are sleeping on my chest, and I want to enjoy it, so I am going to sign off.

  • Final Thoughts:  I wouldn’t change a single thing about you.
